Circle Letter 01/30/15

January 30, 2015
Dear Families,
Well, hello to winter in New England!  There is nothing like a good blizzard to grab our attention and stop everything for a day or two.  Sure hope you stayed cozy and warm while the wintery winds howled!  And also maybe got some fort building or a sledding run in… J
Our biography unit is coming to an end… as kids work on their Biography Poster that has now been brought home.  I imagine you have gotten a first hand glimpse of the poster and learned a bit about whomever your child is reading. We have a nice variety of famous people… King Tut, Helen Keller, Daniel Boone, Elisabeth Stanton Jackie Robinson Dr. Seuss and even Tom Brady… just to name a few.  We will make a Wall of Fame in the hallway outside our classroom.  Feel free to come and check it out! Please encourage your child to finish the poster for next week.  The “due date” will be Friday February 6th for those who need a deadline.

Perhaps the school highlight for our very shortened week together was the kick off of our first grade reading buddies.  We are pairing up with Mrs. Fitzgerald’s class.  Once a week we will get to cozy up with our new reading buddies and enjoy a few good books together.  Please inquire with your kiddo…!  Lastly, The 2nd Annual Great Kindness Challenge will continue into next week!   And go Patriots!
